Job Title: Franchise Development Director 
Location: Remote/Hybrid 

The Opportunity 

We are a fast-growing startup in the home technology industry seeking a Franchise Development Director with the passion, drive, and scrappiness to scale our franchise operations from the ground up. As an integral part of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing our franchise expansion strategy, from prospecting potential franchisees to managing the sales process and overseeing onboarding, with an emphasis on franchise conversion opportunities. You must be hands-on, resourceful, and ready to get things done in a startup environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Franchise Growth Strategy: Develop and implement a strategic plan to grow our franchise network nationally, identifying key markets and targeting prospective franchisees. 
  • Lead Generation & Sales: Role up your sleeves and personally drive lead generation efforts through networking, partnerships, custom integration industry events and franchise expos. Manage the entire sales process from initial inquiry to signing franchise agreements. 
  • Franchisee Onboarding: Partner with the franchise operations team on the onboarding process for new franchisees, ensuring they are set up for success with the necessary tools, support, and training. 
  • Execution-Oriented: As a startup, our needs are dynamic. You will need to support broader initiatives cross-functionally and at times take on tasks outside your core role to ensure goals are met. 
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with the executive team to align franchise growth with overall business objectives. 
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure that all franchise-related activities comply with legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.   
Qualifications 

  • Franchise Development Experience: 5+ years of experience in franchise development or sales, ideally in home technology or related industries. 
  • Execution-Focused: Proven ability to execute in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment where resourcefulness and flexibility are key. 
  • Scrappy Mindset: Adaptability to operate in a dynamic environment, create solutions on the fly, and take ownership of tasks across multiple areas. 
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills to build relationships with potential franchisees and partners. 
  • Team Player: Comfort working in an entrepreneurial, team-oriented, and collaborative startup culture 
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the home technology industry or related sectors – or passion to dive in and learn about it quickly 
  • Analytical Thinker: Hands-on experience with CRM systems, lead generation tools, and sales analytics to gain key performance insights and optimize when needed, experience with FranConnect a plus 
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and project management skills, with a proactive approach to solving problems and driving growth.
